Range Rover Velar brake squeal fixed without the dealer drama, honestly a relief
Had this embarrassing high pitched squeal coming from the front end of the Velar every time I pulled up to a traffic light and I was starting to dread driving anywhere near Downtown because it sounded like I was murdering a cat every time I slowed down, took it to a place in Al Quoz last weekend that a neighbor recommended and they had the wheels off and the pads swapped in under an hour, used some decent Brembo pads that actually came with new anti squeal shims and the proper grease on the backplates unlike the last place that just slapped them in dry and called it a day. The mechanic was super chill about explaining why these big SUVs are so prone to noise with the wrong compound and even showed me the old pads which were glazed to oblivion probably from the previous owner riding the brakes…
